IP Geolocation Accuracy and Limitations
IP addresses are assigned to ISPs and organisations, not to physical addresses. Geolocation maps the IP to the nearest exchange or data centre, which may be miles from the actual user. VPNs and proxies route through servers in other locations, making the IP appear to be in a completely different country.
